An awkward entrance crawl leads to a magnificent 98m pitch down Vulcan
Pot - the deepest underground pitch in Yorkshire.

Had a fine evening trip down this more arduous
entrance to Nick Pot. The entrance crawl is indeed awkward and constricted
and I definitely recommend taking two or three shorter ropes rather than
one large rope for Vulcan. On this trip the short first pitch had an in-situ
rope. The descent of Vulcan Pot is very impressive and well worth the
effort of getting there.
