After five weeks on a slimming programme (caving in China, but not finding any caves) it seemed like a good idea to have a second attempt at that awkward little hole above Hallucination Aven. After an obscure approach via Old Hensler’s Crawl and India Chamber, we finally arrived at the bottom of the aven. Some neoprene was removed; the aven climbed and a handline rigged. After several unsuccessful attempts facing the left wall I tried facing the right wall. With both arms in front of me and my legs wedged in the rift I slowly and painfully managed to coax my shoulders through the hole. The next aven follows immediately and was a 5m climb up slightly slippery walls to a tiny inlet the size of your head - totally impassable! Intended visitors to this remote spot should be skinny connoisseurs!
